Our Story
Once upon a time...
In the summer of 2020, I was living in the college town of Kent, Ohio. I wanted to start eating healthier and less processed foods, but I never had the time. I used to always have homemade fruit salads at my grandparents house and I wanted to start making those at home for myself – but running to the store and cutting up a bunch of fruit was time consuming. That was my light bulb moment! I figured I can’t be the only person that has a craving for fresh fruit, so I wrote a business plan, expanded the menu to include smoothie bowls, and then decided to give the menu a “build your own” type of style.
From the moment we opened in January 2021, I knew we had an amazing product and concept, but even better I knew that "The Fruit Stand" is what I wanted to do with my life.
